The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has introduced a new service that provides free internet access on intercity buses, as part of its efforts to enhance the quality of public transportation services. This initiative is a component of the authority's broader development plan.

Sharjah's bus station now offers free WiFi to passengers, who can easily connect to the open network without having to provide any personal information. This service is in addition to the launch of free internet on intercity buses, which is part of the SRTA's initiative to improve public transportation services.

The emirate has a well-developed public transport system, which is primarily operated by Mowasalat Buses under the SRTA. The system includes 15 main intercity routes, and commuters can use Sayer and Mowasalat cards for easy payment. These payment options are similar to the NOL card used in Dubai.

Commuters travelling from Dubai to Sharjah and Abu Dhabi on intercity buses can also take advantage of the free internet service provided on board. Passengers can connect their portable devices such as smartphones and tablets to the network, allowing them to access the internet and perform various tasks while travelling. This service is a convenient and time-saving opportunity for passengers.
