UAE Food Bank Plans 5 Million Ramadan Meals

During Ramadan, the UAE Food Bank plans to provide over 5 million meals to support more than half a million families and three million workers.
About 166,666 meals will be distributed daily to beneficiaries locally and internationally. This initiative will involve over 5,000 volunteers and 350 strategic partners, including food facilities, hotels, and restaurants.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Food Bank, Dawoud Al Hajri, highlighted the bank's mission to promote responsible food management, reduce food waste, and foster social responsibility. The bank aims to divert 975 tonnes of food waste from landfills during Ramadan, equivalent to planting 102,135 trees annually.
Various sub-initiatives and campaigns, such as 'Your Iftar is on Us', 'No for Wasting Food', 'Cook of Thousand Meals', 'Food Parcel', and 'Iftar with the Workers', will contribute to fulfilling the goal of supplying meals to beneficiaries. Additionally, 25 educational programs will raise awareness about environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and volunteering.
Established in 2017, the UAE Food Bank has benefitted 35 million people locally and globally.
