If a company has 50 employees or more, they have to achieve a 1 percent Emiratisation of skilled jobs before the deadline. Another 1 percent Emiratis should be added to their workforce in the second half of the year.

The deadline was originally supposed to be on June 30th, but the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation had to take into account the Eid Al Adha holidays.

The decision aims to give companies enough time to achieve their targets.

Starting July 8th, companies that do not comply with the Emiratisation targets will have to pay AED 42,000 for each Emirati not employed, which is the total from adding AED 7,000 for each month of 2023.

The fine per month has increased from AED 6,000 in 2022 to AED 7,000 this year, which will continue to increase by AED 1,000 until 2026.

The move aims to gradually raise the Emiratisation rates of skilled jobs to 10 percent by the end of 2026.
