The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has issued a warning to UAE citizens and students in the US about fraudulent messages claiming to be from UAE diplomatic missions.
The ministry urged them to avoid responding to requests for financial transfers via phone or email from purported UAE missions or employees.
Such requests may include payments for university admission or advance payments for scholarships.
The embassy advised individuals to verify the information before responding to suspicious communications and provided an emergency telephone line (0097180024) for reporting fraudulent correspondence or electronic phishing attempts.
