The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned Israel's recent military strikes on Iran, expressing deep concern about the escalating conflict's potential impact on regional security.
The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) emphasized the need for restraint and responsible action to prevent further destabilization.
In an official statement, the Ministry highlighted the importance of resolving disputes through diplomatic channels, calling for adherence to international law and respect for the sovereignty of nations. It reiterated the UAE’s stance that dialogue is essential for addressing the current crises and avoiding the risks associated with military escalation.
The early Saturday morning strikes saw Israel launch three waves of projectiles targeting military installations inside Iran. This marked a significant escalation in tensions, following Iran’s October 1 ballistic missile launch into Israeli territory. Tehran has since vowed retaliation, raising concerns about a broader regional conflict.
Amid the turmoil, UAE airline flydubai canceled flights to several regional destinations, including Jordan, Iran, Iraq, and Israel, citing safety concerns. Some flights were rerouted, while Iraq's Ministry of Transportation confirmed the reopening of airspace and resumption of flights following a brief suspension attributed to the heightened tensions. Iran also resumed normal flight operations after a short halt, according to the Tasnim news agency.
The UAE continues to advocate for a diplomatic approach to the crisis, warning that the ongoing military actions risk exacerbating the conflict and compromising regional stability.
