The UAE recently marked a full year of "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3," an initiative spearheaded by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to deliver extensive humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Launching at the forefront of the crisis, the UAE has focused on providing critical medical care, vital infrastructure support, and immediate relief assistance to the region.
One of the UAE’s key contributions includes establishing a fully operational UAE Field Hospital in southern Gaza’s Rafah area. Despite continued military activity, the hospital remains active, housing specialized clinics that have so far treated over 48,700 individuals in need.
In addition to the field hospital, the UAE deployed a floating hospital based in Al Arish, Egypt. This unique facility has served more than 5,000 Palestinians, offering specialized surgeries and outpatient services.
As part of its commitment, the UAE introduced a prosthetics program to help Gaza residents who have lost limbs in the conflict. The program not only provides advanced prosthetics but also offers crucial rehabilitation and psychological support, helping recipients rebuild their lives and regain independence.
The UAE's contributions extend into the rehabilitation of Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure, supplying over 736 tonnes of medical resources. Through equipment donations, medical kits, and pharmaceuticals, the initiative has helped hospitals and health centers recover and expand their services.
Further highlighting its dedication, the UAE has facilitated the evacuation of more than 1,000 children and cancer patients to receive specialized treatment in the UAE. Covering full treatment costs, the initiative provides essential support for some of Gaza’s most vulnerable residents amid a strained healthcare system.
As the UAE reflects on a year of substantial aid contributions to Gaza, "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3" stands as a testament to the nation’s commitment to global humanitarian efforts, delivering critical resources to those in need in one of the world’s most impacted regions.
