The passport renewal services at Dubai and Abu Dhabi's airports will now be available 24 hours a day for UAE citizens.
UAE citizens can apply for a new passport through five channels, one of which is the Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs explained that if a UAE citizen's passport is lost, damaged, or no longer valid, then the citizen should contact the UAE embassy or consulate. After applying for a new one, the individual will be able to obtain his or her passport at the airport.
When applying for a new passport, the applicant has to submit three documents, which are:
- A family book or a copy of it
- The original Emirates ID or a copy of it
- A recent personal photograph
