UAE Central Bank Introduces New Symbol for Dirham

The Central Bank of the UAE revealed a new symbol for the national currency, the dirham, in physical and digital formats.
The new physical symbol features the capital letter 'D', referring to the currency's name in English, with two lines across it in the middle, which embody the stability of the dirham and refer to the country's national flag.
The digital symbol is the same except that the 'D' has a circle around it, and the whole symbol features the colors of the UAE national flag.
The introduction of the new symbol of the dirham follows the Central Bank's joining the FX Global Code, making UAE the first country in the Arab region to do so.
