Emirati Astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi posted a beautiful picture of the Lebanese capital “Beirut’’ which went viral on social. The image was taken & posted from the International Space Station (ISS) on Saturday on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
AlNeyadi, who is nearing the end of his six-month mission on the International Space Station (ISS), took a photo of the moon from the ISS and shared it on social media. His post was translated into Arabic and English and received a lot of attention, with hundreds of thousands of views and hundreds of comments.
"Here's a snap of #Beirut — the city that breathes art, culture, and beauty — that I was able to capture from the ISS. My heartfelt greetings to Lebanon and its wonderful people," he wrote on Saturday.

The message in Arabic starts begins "Beirut, Lady of the world," an expression taken from a famous poem by Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani.
The astronaut's photo of the moon from space was met with a lot of positive feedback from Lebanese people, who thanked him for sharing it and expressed their appreciation for the close ties between Lebanon and the UAE.
