The Ministry of Economy confirmed the temporary ban on Friday, July 28th. The ministry added that this decision can be extended automatically.
This decision also prohibited the export of rice originating from India that was imported after Thursday, July 20th.
The decision applies to all rice varieties including peeled rice, brown rice and fully or partially milled rice, whether it is smoothed or polished, and broken rice.
However, companies wishing to export or re-export rice must submit a request to the ministry to obtain a permit, and the permission would be valid for 30 days from the date of its issuance.
