Live Nation cited "complex production issues" as the cause for the concert's cancellation as the problem did not allow the producers to construct the show in the desert.
The company also assured that all ticket holders will receive refunds at their point of purchase.
Last week, the Egyptian Syndicate of Musical Professions revoked the necessary permits for Scott's concert in Egypt reasoning that his iconography is satanic.
However, at that time, Live Nation dispelled the rumors and reports of the concert being cancelled.
Nonetheless, on Jul. 26, the company confirmed the cancellation, which was not well-received by Egyptian celebrities.
Egyptian pop star Ahmed Saad said, "Cancelling the licence for the Travis Scott concert in Egypt is a grave mistake."
Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris stated, "The mistake lies in approving it first and then cancelling it, as it undermines Egypt's credibility, shows a lack of respect for contracts and causes the organiser tremendous losses."
Many fans also expressed their disappointment in the comments on Live Nation's announcement.
A Twitter user commented, "So u just communicate less than 48h before the show when ppl from all around the world are coming for it. Booked planes and hotels. How are you going to handle this?"
Scott's Egyptian concert was to be streamed live as part of the global launch of his fourth album 'Utopia'.
Although, the American rapper has already performed in other Arab countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE, his concert in Egypt was still cancelled.
