This restriction applies to both directions during the morning and evening rush hours, starting Monday, November 13, 2023. The primary aim of this measure is to enhance traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents caused by heavy vehicles.
The ban on heavy vehicles will be in effect during morning peak hours from 6:30 to 9:00 a.m. and evening peak hours from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Abu Dhabi Police have urged drivers to refrain from using these roads during the specified time slots and opt for an alternative route as indicated on the provided map.
This alternative route leads from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Street to the Zayed Military City Roundabout through Al Adla Road to Al Rawda Road, also known as the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Truck Road.
Motorists are reminded to adhere to traffic regulations, as monitoring of violations is rigorously enforced through smart systems.
