German Tanks
- A7V Sturmpanzerwagen
- The A7V was Germany"s only tank deployed during WWI, entering the field in 1918. It was armed with a 57 mm Maxim-Nordenfelt gun and six 7.92 mm MG08 machine guns. Despite its heavy armor and firepower, only 20 were built, limiting its impact. The A7V was involved in notable engagements, including the Battle of Villers-Bretonneux
- Captured British Tanks
- Germany often repurposed captured British tanks, such as the Mark IV, to supplement their limited fleet. These were used both for combat and as a means to study tank technology
U.S. Tanks
- Renault FT (Used by U.S. Forces)
- Initially designed by the French, the Renault FT was adopted by the U.S. Army. It was a light tank with a revolutionary rotating turret. Used extensively in the later stages of the war, it played a significant role in supporting American infantry during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive
- M1917 Light Tank
- Based on the Renault FT design, the U.S. developed its own M1917 light tank. However, it arrived too late to see significant action in WWI. It was notable for being the first tank mass-produced in the United States
