Three Filipinos lost their lives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following heavy rain and flooding on April 16, as confirmed by the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) and a top Filipino labor official in Manila on Thursday.

Deaths Reported in Dubai and Sharjah

Hans Leo Cacdac, the officer-in-charge of the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), expressed deep sadness on social media about the loss of three overseas Filipino workers (OFW) during the floods. Two workers reportedly died from suffocation in their vehicle during the flooding, while one worker lost their life in a traffic accident.

Support for Families

While the details about the victims' identities and specific incident locations were not provided, Cacdac emphasized that the DMW will extend full support and assistance to the OFWs' families.
