Three Filipinos lost their lives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following heavy rain and flooding on April 16, as confirmed by the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) and a top Filipino labor official in Manila on Thursday.
Deaths Reported in Dubai and Sharjah
Hans Leo Cacdac, the officer-in-charge of the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), expressed deep sadness on social media about the loss of three overseas Filipino workers (OFW) during the floods. Two workers reportedly died from suffocation in their vehicle during the flooding, while one worker lost their life in a traffic accident.
With extreme sadness, we report the death of 3 OFWs during the flooding in UAE. Two OFWs died due to suffocation inside their vehicle during the flood. One other OFW died due to a vehicular accident. We shall provide utmost support and assistance to their families.
