Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) released statistics, revealing a significant surge in public transport usage during New Year's Eve in 2024. A total of 2,288,631 passengers opted for various modes of public transportation, marking a substantial increase in ridership for the occasion.

Metro, Tram, Buses, and More: Passenger Breakdown
The breakdown showcased the prevalence of different transportation modes. The Dubai Metro’s Red and Green lines collectively transported 974,416 passengers, while the Tram served 56,208 riders. Public Buses were extensively utilized, carrying 401,510 passengers. Additionally, marine transport ferried 97,261 individuals, while e-hail vehicles accommodated 167,051 riders. Shared transport services witnessed 1,316 users, whereas taxis recorded 590,869 passengers.
Efficient and Safe Travel on Festive Night
The RTA confirmed that the smooth operation and safety of passengers were ensured throughout the celebrations. A well-coordinated plan was implemented, strategically aligning with pertinent entities across Dubai. This collaborative effort facilitated hassle-free transportation to and from various New Year's Eve celebration venues.
