Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road neighborhood has undergone a significant name change and is now named after the iconic Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower.

The 830-meter structure, celebrating its 14th anniversary, dominates the skyline along the bustling road. This renaming is part of a broader initiative by the Dubai Land Department, involving 28 areas.
Other notable changes include Motor City becoming Al Hebiah First, Ranches transforming into Wadi Al Asafa 6, Sports City changing to Al Hebiah Fourth, and Al Quoz 2 now known as Ghadeer Al Tair.
The reasons and timeline for these changes remain unclear, and inquiries have been made by the News organization Khaleej Times to the Dubai Land Department for clarification.
Dubai had recently introduced a new approach to road naming, with streets in Al Khawaneej 2 adopting names inspired by local trees and flowers, reflecting a broader initiative to revamp nomenclature across the city.
