The competitions of the first round of the Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab in its sixth edition will start on Friday, September 2, which will be held over two days in the indoor hall of the Qatar Equestrian Federation and the Modern Pentathlon.

The competitions for the opening round of the championship will start tomorrow with two rounds, the first at a height of 100-110 cm with financial prizes of 20,000 riyals, and the second at a height of 120-130 cm (for individuals and teams) with financial prizes of 60,000 riyals.

As for the second and last day of the opening round of the championship, four rounds will be held, starting with the open round at a height of 115-120 cm, with financial prizes of 25,000 riyals, followed by two rounds for future riders, and concluding with the grand round at a height of 130-140 cm with financial prizes of 60,000 riyals.

The tournament includes show jumping and dressage competitions, and it consists of different levels starting from the level of the future riders, the level of the small rounds, and the level of the middle rounds up to the grand round, and there are also competitions for teams.

It is noteworthy that the tournament is organized in joint cooperation between the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation.

The Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab seeks to achieve its vision of inspiring the new generation of riders in the country, encouraging them to become world champions, as well as raising awareness of the importance of equestrianism as part of the history and ancient traditions of the State of Qatar.

This season, the championship includes 14 rounds to be held at the fields of the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Longines fields in Al Shaqab, and will continue until April 2023, and includes various runs with multiple heights in the show jumping and dressage, and the competitions will include all age groups.

The Social and Sports Activities Support Fund (Daam), Longines, ExxonMobil, and Salam International are the main partners of the championship.

The Qatar Equestrian Tours offers organized competitions to ensure the continuity of holding local equestrian championships, and this series has allowed setting clear technical standards for competitions in the country, as a points system has been applied for each category of the competition.

The importance of these tours is reflected in the use of competition results as a reference for choosing the jockeys who will represent Qatar in international competitions and tournaments, and the tournament is open to the participation of Qatari jockeys and residents of Qatar alike.
