The Pointe monorail station on the Palm Monorail is closing starting from today, Monday July 31st.
The Pointe station was initially set to serve those heading to The Pointe -- the waterfront destination for shopping, dining and entertainment -- in 2021, but only began operations in October 2022.
The four other stations on the Palm Monorail -- which opened in 2009 and runs daily, commuting over a million passengers annually -- will continue to operate, and offer connectivity between destinations on the Palm Jumeirah island in Dubai.
The closure of the monorail station comes after The Pointe Fountains closed earlier this year. It was also confirmed that the 1.4 million square foot dining destination was to undergo redevelopment.
Developer Nakheel confirmed that all tenants had been served their 12-months notice, giving them a year to vacate or relocate.
