The Muslim Int'l Film Festival is Coming to London This May!

Calling all cinephiles! The first edition of the Muslim International Film Festival (MIFF) is happening this May in London!

The festival will take place from Thursday, May 30 to Sunday, Jun. 2.

The first-ever Muslim film festival will help filmmakers and other creatives from Muslim backgrounds reclaim Muslim artistic identity at a time when Muslims are still misrepresented in the media. 

The Muslim International Film Festival will screen exciting feature films and shorts and host industry panels and Q&As with upcoming filmmakers and artists. 

Actor-producer Sajid Varda launched the first edition of MIFF last week. The UK Muslim Film are supporting the film festival, a charity working to support and showcase underrepresented voices.

MIFF will open on May 30 with Kamal Lazraq's 'Hounds', which featured at the Cannes Film Festival 2023. 

Other films featuring at the festival include 'Sky Peals', 'Goodbye Julia', 'Inshallah a Boy', 'Empty Nets', and others. 

Representatives from  BBC, BFI, Netflix, and other esteemed organizations will also participate in the festival's panels. 

The festival will include two short programmes featuring 'Dammi', 'A Reckoning of Hearts', and 'Muna'.

MIFF will also offer awards for 'Best Feature', 'Best Short', and the 'Trailblazer Award'.
