In just a few days away, will mark the Hijri New Year with another 3-day weekend. The new Hijri year “Muharram 1” is likely to fall on Wednesday, July 19th, according to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, the president of the Emirates Astronomy Society (ESA).
However, according to the official holidays list released by the UAE government earlier this year, the new Hijri holiday is said to be on Friday, July 21st which means citizens will enjoy another three-day weekend.

Another long break will fall on Friday, September 29th, which will mark the celebration of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
The last holiday of the year will mark the UAE National Day, which includes December 2nd and 3rd, Sunday and Monday.
Earlier, residents enjoyed the longest six-day holiday marking Eid al Adha festival where most of them resumed working on Monday, July 3rd. This holiday fell in Zul Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic Hijri calendar.
