As the scorching heat in the UAE continues, temperatures are set to approach 50 degrees Celsius this week.
The National Centre of Meteorology predicts an increase in the mercury across the Emirates, as well as dust storms.
Temperatures are expected to reach 48°C in Sila, in Abu Dhabi's western region, on Thursday, June 8th.
According to the weather bureau's most recent five-day forecast, temperatures in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be in the low 40s for the majority of the week.

There will be some relief in Dubai on Friday, June 9th, with a milder 37°C day forecast.
Temperatures in the area reached 51.8°C on June 6, 2021, the hottest temperature on Earth on that day, and reached 50°C in August 2022.
