Starting October 15, 2024, outstanding educators in Dubai’s private education sector can apply for the prestigious Golden Visa. Announced by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), this initiative aims to reward and recognise the excellence, innovation, and dedication of educators shaping the future of Dubai.
Who Can Apply for the Golden Visa?
The Golden Visa is open to educators across different levels of private education:

To qualify, educators must demonstrate a proven record of achievement, contribute positively to student outcomes, and impact their institution and the wider educational community.
Eligibility Criteria for Different Roles
1. ECC Managers, School Principals, and Academic Heads of HEIs:

Qualifications (for HEI only): Must have an advanced degree (e.g., PhD, professional doctorate, master's) or relevant professional qualifications.
- Improving School Rating (for principals): Demonstrated success in improving or maintaining the Dubai Schools Inspections Bureau (DSIB) rating to "Good" or better.
- Research Contributions (for HEI heads): Evidence of research contributions, such as published work, research grants, or creative projects.
- Student Success: Clear evidence of improved student outcomes, including graduation rates and academic progress.
- Leadership Impact: Positive feedback from students, parents, and staff on the school environment and leadership quality.
- Recognition & Awards: Must have received prestigious educational awards or formal nominations from the school's board of governors for exceptional leadership.
- Community Work: Contributions to educational projects, partnerships, or social initiatives that benefit the wider community.
2. Teachers and Faculty Members in Schools and HEIs:
- Qualifications (for HEI faculty): Must have an advanced degree or relevant professional qualifications.
- Professional Excellence: Teachers must be nominated by their principal and approved by the board of governors, show evidence of student success in assessments, and receive positive feedback from the school community.
- Research Contributions (for HEI faculty): Evidence of research grants, published work, or creative contributions.
- Supporting Key Student Groups: Evidence of supporting the academic growth of Emirati students or students of determination.
- Recognition & Awards: Must have received national or international education awards or recognition through grants or competitions.
- Community Work: Must contribute to the school community or the broader community through educational initiatives.
