The Swiss Julius Baer Group announced the opening of its third advisory office in the Middle East in Doha, after obtaining a license from the Qatar Financial Center Regulatory Authority.

The announcement of the opening of the office came during a press conference held on Wednesday, October 12 at Qatar National Library, in the presence of Mr. Youssef Mohamed Al Jaidah, CEO of the Qatar Financial Centre, H.E. Mr. Edgar Doerig, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Qatar, and Mr. Philipp Rickenbacker, CEO of Julius Baer Group.

During the press conference, an agreement was also announced between the group and Qatar Foundation to support participation with social impact related to youth.

Mr. Regis Berger, President of the Middle East and Africa region at Julius Baer Group, said that the Middle East region represents an important place for the group's growth, and today it is a fundamental pillar of its strategy, noting that the expansion in Qatar comes in response to the group's ambition and long-term commitment to the markets in this region.

He added, "Over several years, the rapid development of Qatar has become an impressive story. I am sure that our new consultancy office in Doha will be able to offer exceptional value propositions to this prestigious market."

For his part, Selim Booker, CEO of Julius Baer in Qatar, stressed that the country has worked to empower the country's natural resources in favor of building a competitive economy, with strong trade links with global standards and a strong infrastructure.

He said, "We aim to harness our expertise for the benefit of current and future generations of investors, and I am pleased to announce our participation with Qatar Foundation in the WISE educational initiative (the World Innovation Summit for Education), which will focus on supporting social impact engagements related to youth."

Booker noted that Julius Baer has a long history of supporting local communities, either through arts and culture initiatives or by supporting education as a means to reduce wealth inequality, and this cooperation between Qatar Foundation and Julius Baer stimulates local learning systems to Support community development programs, promoting local art and artist communities, and promoting non-formal learning opportunities.

It is worth noting that Julius Baer Group is a Swiss group listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX) operating in the wealth management sector, where its operations focus on providing services and advice to clients around the world.

The Group's efforts are based on its main objective of providing customers with value beyond physical wealth, and the value of assets under management amounted to 457 billion Swiss francs by the end of April 2022.

Julius Baer begins its activity with the new legal entity named "Julius Baer (Qatar Financial Center) LLC". On October 20, 2022, the consulting office will be located in Tornado Tower, Building 7 Street 810, District 60, Offices A and B, 29th Floor, Doha, Qatar.​
