The speed limit on a section of Al Ittihad Road that links Dubai and Sharjah is set to undergo a reduction, decreasing from 100 kph to 80 kph.

This adjusted speed limit will be enforced starting November 20 and applies to the section spanning from the Sharjah-Dubai border to Al Garhoud Bridge.
The decision to implement this change was made collaboratively by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in conjunction with Dubai Police. This decision followed a comprehensive study that assessed various factors, including the number of entrances/exits, the proximity of intersections, the frequency of traffic accidents, and recent advancements and enhancements in the area.
