SPEA Has Approved a Tuition Fee Hike for Sharjah Private Schools

The Sharjah Private Educational Authority (SPEA) has approved a tuition fee hike of up to 5% for private schools in Sharjah for the 2023–24 academic year.

According to the authority, it has assessed the rate of inflation in the country and concluded that schools with a rating higher than "Acceptable" will be permitted to raise their yearly tuition fee. SPEA said that the action is in response to the private sector's need to enhance resources and work requirements.
Any Sharjah school with a rating below "acceptable" will not be permitted by the authority to increase the tuition fees for the academic year 2023-24.

The Sharjah Authority tweeted, "In order to achieve the highest level of quality teaching and learning in the Emirate of Sharjah and in response to the private sector's needs to enhance resources and work requirements, it has been decided to adopt an annual tuition fee increase in Sharjah private schools of a rate not exceeding 5 percent for the academic year 2023-2024, according to the school's academic evaluation and the country's inflation rate."
A recent fee increase for Dubai private schools for the academic year 2023–2024 was also authorized by Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
