Offline Sharing
This upcoming feature will enable users to share photos, videos, music, and documents even without Wi-Fi or data access. The goal is to offer users more flexibility in how they share files.
Security and Privacy
The files shared offline will be encrypted, ensuring they remain secure and protected from unauthorized access.
New Permissions for Android
Leaked screenshots from the latest WhatsApp for Android test version reveal the app will need new permissions for this feature. Specifically, it will require the ability to locate nearby devices using Bluetooth to enable file sharing.
Users who prefer not to grant this permission will have the option to disable it for privacy reasons.
