Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center Saw Over 3.3 Million Visitors in H1

3,334,757 people visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre in Abu Dhabi in the first half of 2023, a 127 percent increase over the same period in the previous year.

A total of 2,388,437 tourists visited the site, including 1,684,409 who went to the mosque and 704,028 who went to the market and visitor center. There were 914,195 worshipers among the visitors.
81% of the total were from abroad, highlighting the mosque's impressive repute as one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
According to TripAdvisor's Travellers Choice Awards for 2022: the Best of the Best Destinations, the mosque came in first place in the area and fourth in the Top Attractions category. In the subcategory of Top Cultural & Historical Tours, it ranked eighth overall.
Through a variety of religious and cultural programs, including the Jusoor program and others, the mosque also strengthened its cultural role by presenting Islamic culture and introducing visitors to local cultural heritage. During H1, these programs attracted more than 1,365 people.
A total of 63,919 people offered prayers at the mosque on April 21, which was the biggest number of worshipers to do so in a single day.
The center received 852,714 visits in total during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1444 A.H., an unparalleled influx of worshippers and tourists.
The total number of Muslims who attended the mosque for the evening and Taraweeh prayers and the Tahajjud prayers during Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr was 452,047.
