The countdown is on for the fifth edition of the Hope Makers Award, set to take place on February 23 under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, UAE Vice-President, and Prime Minister.

With over 26,000 young changemakers participating, the Dh1 million prize recognizes individuals who have dedicated their lives to humanitarian work, driving positive change in their communities.

"Life taught me that to make hope is to make life," Sheikh Mohammed shared. "Hope is the bridge that connects our present reality to the future we dream of. We must build these bridges for millions of young people so that despair never takes over."

Inspiring Journeys of Hope

Hope Makers celebrates everyday heroes who tackle social challenges with positivity, innovation, and resilience. Past winners include:

  • 2017: Nawal Al Soufi (Morocco) – Saved over 200,000 refugees.
  • 2018: Mahmoud Wahid (Egypt) – Provided shelter for homeless seniors.
  • 2020: Ahmed Al Falasi (UAE) – Established kidney dialysis centers in Kenya.
  • 2024: Tala Al Khalil (Iraq) – Supports children with cancer and special needs.

Last year, three additional finalists were also awarded Dh1 million each to expand their humanitarian projects.

The 2025 Hope Maker of the Year will be revealed in Dubai, continuing the legacy of empowering changemakers across the Arab world.
