Sharjah Police have successfully dismantled a sophisticated drug smuggling operation. Known as 'Operation Destructive Stone,' the crackdown led to the arrest of three individuals attempting to import narcotics hidden inside marble stones.

Details of the Operation

The arrested suspects, all of Asian descent, were found to be planning to smuggle over 226 kilograms of hashish, psychotropic substances, and other narcotic drugs into the UAE. They had concealed these drugs within marble slabs, intending to distribute and sell them locally.

Colonel Majid Sultan Al-Asam, head of the Anti-Narcotics Department at Sharjah Police, explained that intelligence reports revealed the gang's connections with international drug dealers. This prompted a targeted investigation to uncover their network and monitor their activities.

Innovative Smuggling Methods Foiled

The gang used an unusual method to evade detection by hiding drugs inside marble slabs shipped to the UAE. Despite their efforts, Sharjah Police remained vigilant and successfully intercepted the smuggling attempt.

The Sharjah Police General Command urged the public to stay alert and cooperate with law enforcement. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities by calling 8004654 or emailing dea@shjpolice.gov.ae.
