The Sharjah Police's anti-narcotics unit arrested a gang of seven Asians who had used delivery drivers to distribute and transport drugs.
According to a senior police official in Sharjah, the gang members employed a novel strategy to promote (7,604) grams of crystal meth, (494) grams of cannabis, and (297) rolls by exploiting the low-wage workers of delivery companies.
The accused are being held in custody, and prosecutors have been notified. The workers were not likely to be aware of the items they were transporting, according to the police.
The anti-drug officials conducted their diligent operations of surveillance and investigation. In collaboration and coordination with the anti-drug organizations in the neighboring Emirates, they devised an elaborate plan to capture them.
