Starting May 2, commuters traveling on intercity buses in Sharjah can enjoy reduced fares of up to Dh3 per ride. The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has decided to lower the bus fares on all intercity routes due to a drop in fuel prices.
According to Khaleej Times, it is reported that the fare matrix shows a reduction in bus fares on various intercity routes in Sharjah. For instance, the fare for traveling from Rolla, Sharjah to Mall of the Emirates in Dubai has decreased by Dh3 from Dh20 to Dh17. Additionally, the ticket price for Route 112 has been lowered from Dh7 to Dh6, while Route 114 has also experienced a decrease in fare from Dh8 to Dh6.
The new bus fare reductions on Route 115 vary between Dh2 and Dh3, depending on the point of origin and destination. Meanwhile, the fare for shorter routes previously charged at Dh8 has now been decreased to Dh6. Longer stops that used to cost Dh30 now have a reduced fare of Dh27.
Routes 116, 611, and 616 have also witnessed a decrease in fares of up to Dh3. Similarly, passengers traveling on Routes 113, 308, 309, 313, 117, and 118 will now have to pay reduced fares of between Dh2 and Dh3. However, Route 811, which operates between Shuwaib and Al Ain, will still have a fixed fare of Dh10 per ride.
