Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan will be honored with a career achievement award at the Locarno Film Festival in August.

The festival organizers announced on Tuesday, Jul. 2 that the actor will be honored with the award for his ‘remarkable career in Indian cinema’.

King Khan will receive the award on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Piazza Grande in Locarno, Switzerland. 

Khan's most renowned film 'Devdas' will be screened during the festival. The actor will be part of a Forum @Spazio Cinema at the film festival on Sunday, Aug. 11.

Shah Rukh Khan had a blockbuster year in 2023 with three back-to-back film releases after a long, four-year break. 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan' became part of the highest-grossing films of the year.

His third film 'Dunki' with Rajkumar Hirani was released in December of last year. 

The Locarno Film Festival will run from Wednesday, Jul. 7 to Saturday, Jul. 17.
