In July and August, Pakistan saw an average rainfall of 391 millimeters, or nearly 190 percent, above the 30-year average. Seasonal rains and melting glaciers in the northern mountains caused floods that killed more than 1,391 people and engulfed homes, roads, railways, bridges, livestock, and crops.
Therefore, Saudi Arabia decided to extend a helping hand and assistance to brotherly Pakistan, as the second plane carrying humanitarian aid from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for those affected by the floods arrived in Pakistan today, Wednesday.
This came within the framework of alleviating the suffering of those affected by the wave of torrential rains and floods that hit a number of Pakistani cities and regions and resulted in severe losses of life and property.
