Schools Offer Up to 9-Day Break Ahead of Ramadan

Students across the city are gearing up for a mid-term break in February, with schools varying their holiday schedules. Some institutions are offering up to nine days off, including weekends, starting Monday, February 10, while others have opted for shorter breaks.
Different Schools, Different Schedules
Here’s how the breaks are shaping up:
Nine-Day Break
Schools starting their holidays on Monday, February 10, and resuming on Monday, February 17.
Three-Day Break
Institutions taking a pause from Wednesday, February 12, to Friday, February 14.
Four-Day Weekend
Schools with holidays on Thursday, February 13, and Friday, February 14, allowing students to enjoy a long weekend.
For schools running an international curriculum, holidays are flexible but must meet the required 182 school days annually.
Why Mid Term Breaks Matter
Teachers and administrators stress the importance of these breaks for students. The time off offers a chance to recharge before the intensity of final terms and the preparations for Ramadan, which begins later in March.
Calendars Approved in Advance
School calendars, including mid-term holidays, are finalized and approved by education authorities before each academic year ends. This ensures clarity for parents and aligns schedules across schools.
