Saudi Arabia is open to investing “quickly” in Iran after diplomatic relations between the two countries were restored, Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan said on Wednesday.
Saudi Arabia and Iran agreed to restore ties after officials of the two countries met in China last week.
Speaking at the at the International Financial Sector (IFS) forum taking place in Riyadh, Al Jadaan said that “Saudi investments have an opportunity in Iran,” and that he does not foresee “any problems in launching such investments.”
“There are a lot of opportunities in Iran, and we provide a lot of opportunities, as long as goodwill continues,” Al-Jadaan added.
The IFS forum is taking place at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh on March 15th and 16th, is organized by Saudi Arabia’s Financial Sector Development Program partners.
