Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new AI-assisted vehicle aimed at automating the detection of road damage across the city. This initiative is part of RTA's efforts to enhance traffic safety and road quality.
How It Works
Equipped with advanced cameras, sensors, and technical devices, the smart vehicle can accurately monitor and record road damages without human intervention. It also evaluates the effectiveness of traffic diversions in Dubai.

Benefits of the AI Technology
According to Hussain Al Banna, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, the AI vehicle provides broader coverage of inspection sites, increasing by up to 30%. Moreover, it significantly reduces the time needed for inspections by approximately 70% compared to traditional methods.
Pilot Operation
The AI-assisted vehicle is currently undergoing a pilot operation to assess its efficiency and reliability in real-world conditions.
Future Implications
If successful, this technology could revolutionize how Dubai maintains its road infrastructure, ensuring safer and more efficient travel for residents and commuters alike.
