RTA Cautions Drivers to Take a Rest if Feeling Drowsy when Fasting
Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has advised drivers to avoid driving if they are tired, particularly during Ramadan, when attention levels might vary owing to changes in eating and sleeping patterns.
The RTA has been spreading the message amongst drivers by distributing awareness booklets and Iftar meals with the slogan "Enjoy Your Iftar and Focus on Your Way."
Additionally, it spearheaded an effort with Dubai's driving schools, giving trainee drivers who pass their driving test an Iftar coupon that includes crucial driving safety advice. During Ramadan, around 8000 awareness leaflets will be distributed.
The RTA has advised drivers to take a good amount of rest before getting behind the wheel, stop driving when they're tired, relax and rest for a short time to help finish a journey safely, and stop when they hear the call for Maghreb prayer while driving. Even if they only have a glass of water and a few dates, they need to stop to have some Iftar before you keep going.
#RTA has directed motorists against driving while feeling exhausted or tired, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, where the concentration of some motorists drops due to the change in eating and sleeping habits.
