Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently revealed plans for a new road project in Al Qusais. The project includes the construction of internal roads and lighting works in the Al Qusais industrial areas 1 to 5, and is expected to significantly reduce travel time by up to 60 percent. The announcement was made on Sunday, and the RTA has already awarded a contract for the project.

The new road project in Al Qusais, announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), will involve the construction of 32 roads covering a total distance of 10 kilometers. Additionally, 43 kilometers of streetlights will be installed as part of the project. Upon completion, the project is expected to increase road capacity by 200 percent, allowing for a greater number of vehicles to pass through, from 500 to 1,500 per hour in both directions.

According to Mattar Al Tayer, the Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, the new internal roads project in Al Qusais is aimed at improving connectivity in the industrial areas that are currently serviced by four main streets, namely Amman, Beirut, Halab, and Damascus streets. The project will also enhance access to 320 workshops, 25 residential buildings, shops, and educational areas, benefiting an estimated population of 60,000 people in the area.
