The beloved 'Iron Man' star Robert Downey Jr. is set to return to the Marvel universe as Doctor Doom.
The casting was revealed at San Diego's Comic-Con on Saturday, Jul. 27. The President of the Marvel Cinematic Universe production Kevin Feige announced the news.
He also announced that there will be two Avengers sequels coming: 'Secret Wars' and 'Doomsday'.
The latter film will introduce Downey Jr.'s new character Doctor Doom, who is a villain. The actor shared a picture of him with a green mask and wearing a cloak, writing in the caption, "New mask, same task".
The Iron Man actor also made an appearance at the 'Comic-Con' wearing a green suit and a silver mask. When he unmasked himself on stage as Doctor Doom, fans at the event went into a frenzy.

Although the fans at Comic-Con showed enthusiasm for the news, netizens have not been so optimistic.
One fan wrote, "Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom is the most Marvel thing I can think of, really... just completely giving up any attempt of being original.”
No further details have been revealed about the upcoming film.
