Qatar National Library Organizes Arts, Culture, and Technology Program
Next October, Qatar National Library will organize a rich program of events that address the interests of all age groups and focus on football, arts, music, literature, and technology.
On the occasion of the celebration of Qatar Patient Safety Week, the library, in cooperation with the Qatar Cancer Society, is holding a reading session, on October 2, by cancer survivors, about their experiences of recovery and sharing their inspirational and supportive stories for those battling this disease.
In cooperation with the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), the library will launch a program that includes a cooking session accompanied by Chef Nour Al Mazrouei and Chef Giles Dooley, on October 3, with the aim of enhancing the skills of people with disabilities and enabling them to lead their independent lives.
On the ninth of October, the library will launch the second scientific research forum for young people in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys, to enable preparatory and secondary students to build and develop their capabilities in the field of scientific research.
On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Qatar and France, the library is organizing October 11, in cooperation with the French Embassy in the country, an exhibition that highlights an exclusive collection of photographs documenting distinguished historical moments that have now become landmarks within the traditions of the established cooperation between the two countries.
From October 13 to December 31, and under the slogan “Welcome the World to the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” the library will host the art exhibition “Risha,” which displays children’s drawings inspired by the stadiums of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The exhibition is accompanied by audio descriptions and high-contrast images to enrich the visit of the visually impaired, who can listen to the audio description by scanning the QR code available in the various sections of the exhibition with the phone’s camera, and they can also feel the paintings with their fingertips.
On October 16, the community will meet at the National Library for a reading session that discusses the novel "The Spirits of Kilimanjaro", which won the 2016 Katara Prize for Arabic Fiction, and host the author Ibrahim Nasrallah to talk about his experience climbing Kilimanjaro Mount in January 2014.
On October 19, Qatar National Library invites you to attend a new concert by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra at the library’s headquarters entitled “The Voice of Books and the Seventh Art” accompanied by Cinémon, a member of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, which will play the soundtrack for the most famous series and movies, such as “The Godfather”, “Anna Karenina" and "Game of Thrones".
On October 30, as part of the celebration of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the library will organize a competition in the famous PlayStation game "FIFA 22" to share with community members their passion for football through video games.
