People in Qatar will be happy to know the country's national team defeated Tajikistan 1-0 at Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday, Jan. 17 in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
Qatar became the first team to reach the last 16 in the AFC Asian Cup tournament.
Akram Afif scored the winning goal in the seventeenth minute of the match for Qatar on Wednesday night, which made his third goal overall in the tournament, after securing Qatar's victory against Lebanon on the first day of the tournament.
The win also put Qatar on top in Group A after the China vs. Lebanon match came to a draw earlier on Wednesday.
Alongside Afif, Qatar's striker Almoez Ali also became the star of the match as the duo worked together to create pressure on the Tajikistan team.

Ali was the one who set up the in-form forward, which helped Afif score the winning goal.
Teamwork truly made the dream of winning work for Qatar!
Qatar will play against China at the Khalifa International Stadium on Monday, Jan. 22 and fans hope that Qatar brings another victory home!
