Ramadan is a symbol to spirituality, family, traditions and more. When fasting in Ramadan it is important to maintain your health with a healthy diet and drink so much water after breaking your fast to make sure you do not suffer of dehydration.

With that being said, here are some traditional Ramadan drinks that will prevent you from dehydration and that are filled with nutrients.
- Jallab
Jallab is one of the most popular drinks in the UAE and all over the Middle East. During Ramadan, this beverage is a staple in most households. It is made by using dates, grape molasses with rose water and is served with lots of ice to help you beat the heat while getting hydrated. Jallab is often times low in calories, does not contain artificial sweeteners and goes down smooth. And, as we all know dates are rich in nutrients!
- Coconut water
Coconut water is a natural way to hydrate as it is low in calories and is naturally free of fat and cholesterol, it is rich in potassium more than four bananas, it is also rich with electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals to replenish the body and beats dehydration. It’s also great because it won’t spike your sugar and insulin levels. This nature drink is always a good choice!
- Qamar al Din
Qamar al din is traditionally served thick and cold, and it is believed to be especially fortifying and a good source of energy, electrolytes, and hydration, all of which are crucial after a day of fasting. This drink is probably the most popular Ramadan drink in the Middle East and is great for the Ramadan season. Its main ingredient is dried apricot or apricot paste.
Qamar al Din is a popular iftar drink as it is known to aid digestion, regulate metabolism as well as containing healthy properties such as vitamins and minerals.
- Dates and Milk
When you think of Ramadan you would immediately associate with dates and drinks!
Dates are typically eaten right after the sunset call to prayer and are usually the first thing eaten to break the fast. Most people like to marinate the dates in milk the day before they are served as per tradition and in adherence to the teachings of the Prophet Mohammad.
Other people often like to eat plain dates while also drinking milk which is also an easy, convenient way to consume them.
