A masked car thief who smashed windows and stole valuables from vehicles in Ras Al Khaimah has been apprehended by local police, along with an individual who circulated videos of the thefts online.

The arrest was confirmed by Dr. Tariq Mohammed bin Saif, Director General of Police Operations, after multiple reports emerged of vehicle theft across various locations in the emirate.

According to authorities, the thief, identified as an Asian resident in his thirties, targeted cars by breaking windows and seizing valuable items, concealing his identity with a mask.

Videos and photos of the incidents gained traction on social media, prompting Ras Al Khaimah Police to organize a specialized team to investigate. Using evidence from the crime scenes, police successfully identified and arrested the suspect, who confessed to multiple vehicle thefts during questioning.

In an additional development, the individual who shared videos of the break-ins on social media was also detained. Authorities stated that such content can compromise active investigations and enable criminals to evade capture. The police have urged the public to avoid posting similar videos online, emphasizing that it could hinder legal proceedings.

Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al-Naeemi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, commended the prompt action taken by the force to protect citizens and their property. He reiterated the police’s dedication to maintaining safety across the emirate and encouraged community cooperation in safeguarding investigations.
