Plestia Alaqad's Book Comes out This April
Palestinian journalist and poet Plestia Alaqad's book 'The Eyes of Gaza' is coming out on Apr. 29 this year.
The book features a series of diary extracts, highlighting Alaqad's first-hand experience of living through the first 45 days of the genocide in Gaza.
The book also features the journalist's memories of growing up in Gaza and stories about the Palestinian community's resilience. The book is available for pre-order here.
Alaqad gained international recognition for her coverage of Israel's war in Gaza. In November 2023, she left the Gaza Strip with her family for Egypt and then they travelled to Australia.
In 2024, Alaqad received the Shireen Abu Akleh Scholarship at the American University of Beirut.
