Palestinian Valerie Tarazi Qualifies for the Paris Olympics

She qualified along with Palestinian swimmer Yazan Al Bawwab.

Palestinian-American swimmer Valarie Tarazi has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will begin on Friday, Jul. 26.

The swimmer will present Palestine at the Paris Olympics. She participated in the 2023 Arab Games and won two gold, three silver, and one bronze medal in the tournament.

Other than Valarie, Palestinian swimmer Yazan Al Bawwab has also qualified for the tournament. He won the 50 and 100 backstroke events in the 2023 Arab Games.

Middle Eastern Athletes Participating in the Paris Olympics 2024

Qatar's Mutaz Barshim will participate in the Olympics' high jump category, while Saudi Arabia's Donia Abu Taleb will participate in the taekwondo category of the tournament.

Jordan's Julayna Al Sadeq will also participate in the women's taekwondo event.

The UAE has qualified to participate in equestrian showjumping and judo. Safiya Al Sayegh has become the first Emirati woman and second rider from the Emirates to qualify for the Olympics. 

Egypt's Mayar Sherif and Tunisia's Moez Echargui will participate in the tennis events at Roland Garros.
