After losing her job abroad, Strawberry Ann B. Villegas, a 36-year-old overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Dubai, decided to help others in the same situation. She created an online platform to share job vacancies, providing much-needed hope and opportunities for fellow Filipinos in the UAE.

Birth of "UAE Hiring”
In 2018, Villegas lost her job when the construction company she worked for shut down. Witnessing the struggles of her colleagues, she vowed to help. She started "UAE Hiring," a Facebook page where she posts job openings and shares her LinkedIn account with over 20,200 followers.
Growing Network and Advocacy
Villegas began by sharing job postings with friends. As her network grew, she developed contacts with recruiters, dedicating time to coordinate and share job opportunities. Now working as a support executive to a CEO in the UAE, she continues her advocacy.
Clarifying Her Role
Despite her efforts, Villegas is not a recruiter. She makes it clear that she simply wants to help others find better careers without expecting anything in return. This passion stems from her own experiences and her desire to support others facing similar hardships.

Personal Challenges
Villegas faces her own challenges, including caring for her eldest son, who suffers from a severe medical condition requiring expensive treatments. Despite these difficulties, she remains committed to her mission of helping others.

Through "UAE Hiring," Villegas has provided a lifeline for many unemployed Filipinos in the UAE, offering them hope and the chance to pursue their dreams. Her dedication and compassion continue to inspire and support her community.
