Officially Karim Benzema Misses the World Cup
The French national team announced the exclusion of Karim Benzema, the Spanish Real Madrid striker and the best player in the world, from the list participating in the “Qatar 2022” World Cup.
The official account of the French national team on Twitter confirmed the news of the exclusion of the star of the royal team, saying: After an injury to the quadriceps muscle of the left thigh, Benzema will be forced to give up participating in the World Cup.
"The entire team shares Benzema's grief and wishes him a speedy recovery," he added.
In turn, the player said on Twitter: I have never given up in my life, but I have to think about the team as I always do.
The French national team plays in Group D, which includes Australia, Denmark, and Tunisia, and begins its tournament campaign, next Tuesday, by facing Australia in the first round of the group stage.
