New Roads in 19 Areas in Dubai to Reduce Travel by 40%
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced an ambitious project to upgrade roads across 19 areas in the city. As part of the initiative, 11.5km of roads will undergo significant improvements, aiming to make daily commutes smoother and more efficient for residents and visitors.
This project is part of RTA's ongoing efforts to optimise the city’s infrastructure and reduce traffic congestion. The upgrades include new road connections designed to enhance traffic flow, allowing you to enter and exit these areas quickly and easily. Additional improvements include better pavements, expanded roadside parking, and enhanced street lighting, benefiting both drivers and pedestrians alike.
The key highlight? Travel time is expected to be slashed by up to 40 per cent. Whether you’re heading to work or simply running errands, you’ll likely notice a significant difference once the project is complete. The work is scheduled to wrap up by 2026, so the wait won’t be too long.
