Holders of residency visas can now return to the UAE after spending more than six months abroad because of a new re-entry permit introduced in the UAE. Residents will need to give a justification for staying outside, as well as supporting documentation.
On the 'smart services' page of the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) website, residents can access the service and they must send the application outside the UAE.
The consumer may submit an application for this request following 180 days spent abroad. The authority specifies on the service card for the re-entry permission that the applicant must enter the nation within 30 days beginning from the approval date when the application is approved.
The service's issuance fee is Dh800. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) charges additional costs of Dh150 bringing the total fees close to 950 overall. If the application is denied, the Dh800 issuance fee will be returned.
