Nandini Gupta, age 19, from Kota, Rajasthan has been crowned as Femina Miss India World 2023 at a grand ceremony held on Saturday night in Manipur. 

India's new beauty queens of the year; Shreya Poonja from Delhi and Manipur's Thounaojam Strela Luwang became the first runner-up and the second runner-up, respectively.

"C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S. All of these ladies have a powerful voice and we're sure that they're going to use this platform to further all the important causes that they believe in," Miss India Organisation wrote in an Instagram post. 

It added: "We've seen the passion with which they've worked for these positions and must say that there's no one more deserving! Congratulations, ladies- it's time to celebrate. Let's pop the champagne!"

The ceremony was a star-studded event, as the evening kickstarted with a performance by the former winners of the pageant.

The audience was later entertained by performances by Bollywood actors Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday. 

Nandini holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management. She will now represent India at the 71st edition of the Miss World pageant in UAE in May 2023.
